During his visit to Pskov land, on July 24, Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk, Chairman of the Synodal Department, paid tribute to the memory of military priests who gave their lives for their faith and Fatherland during a special military operation.

Together with the military clergy, the archpastor visited the resting places of Priest Alexander Tsyganov and Priest Anthony Savchenko. A requiem mass was served on the graves of the fallen soldiers of Christ.

Father Alexander and Father Anthony remained close to their spiritual children, soldiers, until their last breath. In the most difficult conditions of the front line, they brought comfort, the Sacraments and the word of God to the soldiers, sharing their dangers and hardships with the army to the end.

The sacrificial feat of the Pskov pastors is forever inscribed in the history of the Russian military clergy as evidence of their utmost loyalty to God and their flock.
