On the feast of the Nativity of the honorable and glorious Prophet, Forerunner and Baptist John, July 7, 2026, according to a tradition established about a century and a half ago by Archimandrite Antonin (Kapustin), head of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission in Jerusalem, the icon of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos, which, like the Most Pure Virgin, had been in a Mountainous country for three months, returned to Jerusalem.
On this day, with the blessing of His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilus III of Jerusalem, Metropolitan Hesychius of Capitoliades, hierarch of the Jerusalem Orthodox Church, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Cathedral of All Saints Who Shone Forth in the Russian Land at the Gornensky Convent in Ein Karem.
His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilus, Archbishop Aristarchus of Constantinople, Secretary General of the Jerusalem Patriarchate, Abbess of the Gornensky Convent, Abbess Ekaterina (Chernysheva) and her sisters, and numerous worshippers and pilgrims prayed during the service.
On the evening before, on July 6, an all-night vigil was held by the clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church in the Cathedral of All Russian Saints of the Gornensky Monastery.
The Liturgy was celebrated in Church Slavonic, Greek and Arabic.
At the end of the service, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeev), thanked His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilus and the clergy of the Jerusalem Patriarchate for their joint prayer and congratulated the faithful on the holiday. 
In response, His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilus thanked Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeev) and the abbess of the monastery for the warm welcome, in turn also congratulating all participants of the divine service on the holiday.
Then the Primate and hierarchs of the Church of Jerusalem, the clergy of the Russian Orthodox Church, and the sisters of the Gornenskaya Monastery marched in a procession with the icon of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary from the Cathedral of All Russian Saints to the Kazan Temple of the Gornensky Monastery, where they worshiped the venerated Kazan image of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
During the festive meal, the choir of the Gorna sisters performed spiritual hymns in honor of the Baptist of the Lord John and Our Most Holy Lady Theotokos, the website of the Russian Orthodox Church reports.
At the end of the meal, the clergy and sisters, led by Metropolitan Hesychius, marched from the Kazan Temple to the source of the Virgin Mary, located in the center of Ein Karem, in a procession with the image of the Annunciation and hymns of the Virgin Mary. From there, the icon, accompanied by the clergy and sisters of the Mission, went to the Trinity Cathedral in Jerusalem.
At the Trinity Cathedral of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission, Archimandrite Vassian (Zmeev) and the clergy of the Mission solemnly greeted the venerated image of the Annunciation, which was placed in its permanent place of residence with the singing of the festive troparion. Thus ended the celebration of the "Kiss" — the meeting of the righteous Elizabeth with the Blessed Virgin Mary.
