Over the course of three days, priests of the Russian Orthodox Church delivered Christmas gifts, including mandarins, toys, and sweets, to more than 5,000 children living in conflict zones. They visited hospitals and social centers, distributing presents, as reported by miloserdie.ru.

"All the children were very happy, especially with the mandarins," said Father Dmitry Krotkov, head of the Special Humanitarian Center of the Crimean Metropolis.

During the pre-New Year period, children-volunteers also participated in these charity actions. For example, 13-year-old Ksenia from Sergiev Posad traveled to the conflict zone to bring holiday cheer to children. She helped organize a celebration dressed as the Snow Maiden. "In Severodonetsk, she paid attention to every child she met, offering dolls, paints, and plasticine — things that the children eagerly awaited in the days before Christmas," shared the Church's Telegram channel "Deeds of the Church."

Additionally, at the end of December 2024, clergy from the Special Humanitarian Center of the Crimean Metropolis, the Djankoy and Skadovsk dioceses, and the head of the Andreevsky House of Mercy in Sevastopol, with the support of the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission, delivered 2,000 New Year's gifts to the residents of the Golopristansky district in the Skadovsk Diocese. They also provided 1 ton of mandarins, 350 kilograms of apples, and school supplies for children. In the near future, another 1,000 New Year's gifts will be delivered to the Alyoshkovsky district, and 1,408 gifts will be sent to Nova Kakhovka.
