Rom. 10:11-11:2; Mt. 11:16-20
The Lord compares those of us who don’t listen to the Gospel with the children who neither dance to merry tunes, nor weep to sad ones [Mt. 11:16-17]: just leave them alone!
Promised the Kingdom of Heaven, most bright, sweet and joyous, we don’t care, as if it’s none of our business. Threatened with the impartial Last Judgment and eternal torments, we don’t react either, as deaf. Dumbed down, we have lost any sense of self-protection, we move towards our doom with no care for our lot. We have lost heart, fallen into despondency: no matter what, let it be.
That’s what we are! No wonder that suicides have become so common. Such are the fruits of modern teachings, modern world view. Welcome to progress! Welcome to enlightenment! Isn’t it better to be completely ignorant and save one’s soul with the fear of God, than, having earned a name of a wise man, perish forever, without even thinking of the future after death?
The Word of God describes both the Heavenly Kingdom and hell: not a single jot will change therein, everything will come true just as written. Take this to heart as utterly personal matter and care about yourself, as much as you can, as long as you still have time.
