The publishing House of the Moscow Patriarchate has published the Patriarchal Calendar for 2027, the official calendar and liturgical, as well as a reference publication of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The Patriarchal calendar continues the tradition of a complete official calendar-a reference book for the upcoming liturgical year and the structure of the Russian Orthodox Church. The unique edition includes the traditional full monthly calendar with detailed liturgical notes, troparia and kontakion, as well as fragments of sermons by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia for every day of the church year. The calendar contains the troparia and kontakion of those feasts or saints whose services are provided for in the Liturgical Instructions issued by the Publishing House of the Moscow Patriarchate. The liturgical notes reveal the liturgical features of the coming year.
The Patriarchal calendar for 2027 reflects a number of church commemorations and anniversaries. Among them are the 600th anniversary of the repose of St. Cyril, Abbot of Beloezersk, the 150th anniversary of the repose of St. Anthony (Medvedev) of Radonezh, vicar of the Trinity—Sergius Lavra, the 75th anniversary of the repose of Blessed Matrona of Moscow, as well as the 150th anniversary of the birth of St. Luke the Confessor, Archbishop of Simferopol.
The introductory article to the calendar is dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the glorification of St. Innocent, Metropolitan of Moscow, Apostle of Siberia and America.
The special sections of the calendar contain traditional reference information: about synodal and general church institutions, about dioceses and the episcopate of the Moscow Patriarchate, about theological educational institutions and about foreign parishes of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The calendar contains many color illustrations: photographic materials highlighting the events of church life and the ministry of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church, and photographs of the episcopate are posted in the corresponding section.
