On Lazarev's Saturday, April 12, 2025, OCU raiders seized the St. Nicholas Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the Bukovina village of Verkhniye Stanovtsy.
Hiding behind a "prayer service" at the temple fence, the raiders broke down several spans of fencing, entered the territory, beat parishioners and broke into the church, breaking into the temple doors. Several women who tried to obstruct them were knocked to the ground.
After that, the police entered the territory, pushed back the community of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and made a living corridor through which the invaders entered the church. Several dozen local residents came to storm the temple, most of them came from nearby and distant villages.
Earlier, on the night of April 8-9, there had already been an attempt to storm this temple: then the intruders broke down the church doors, entered and barricaded themselves, before severely beating the parishioners. When the men of the parish were notified of the incident, the raiders were forced to leave the church. The police did not interfere in the situation.
