On December 11, 2025, the presentation of the book album "Moscow Orthodox - 2025", released to mark the 15th anniversary of the Program for the Construction of Orthodox Churches in Moscow, will take place at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.
The publication will be presented by Vladimir Resin, Deputy of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, Adviser to the Patriarch on construction issues, curator of the Program for the Construction of Orthodox Churches in Moscow, Priest Alexander Privalov, Deputy Chairman of the Financial and Economic Department of the Moscow Patriarchate, Archpriest Andrey Yurevich, head of the architectural Department of the Moscow State University, and Igor Kovalev, Executive Director of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior Foundation.
The unique two—volume book "Moscow Orthodox - 2025" is dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Program for the construction of Orthodox churches in the capital. The authors of the idea were Vladimir Resin and Metropolitan Nikander of Vladimir and Suzdal, Chairman of the Financial and Economic Department.
The initiator and ideological inspirer of the Program for the construction of Orthodox churches in Moscow is His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. The main task of this large—scale project of the Church and the state is to provide residential areas of the capital with temples within walking distance. The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church is also involved in financing the construction of new temple complexes.
Over the 15 years of the Program, more than 150 temples and more than 120 temporary ones have been erected. 39 temples are under construction, and eight more sites are being prepared for the start of work. 17 Orthodox complexes are being designed.
The presentation of an album dedicated to the 15th anniversary of the Program for the construction of Orthodox churches in Moscow will take place in the capital.
