On the day of the memory of the Holy Martyr Nicholas of Troitsk, on March 10, 2026, the vicar of the Holy Trinity Monastery in Cheboksary, Archimandrite Vasily (Pasquier) celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the monastery compound at the church in honor of the Icon of the Mother of God "Vladimirskaya" in the village of Maloe Churashevo, Yadrinsky municipal district of Chuvashia.
At the end of the Liturgy, a prayer service and a procession were held.
Then the father superior congratulated everyone on the holiday, thanked the rector, Abbot Tikhon (Pershin), for the invitation and for the joint prayer of all the co–serving priests, and addressed the assembled worshippers with a pastoral speech, which emphasized that it is the passage of the field of Great Lent that is a time of wise doing. Now, when we try to draw closer to the Lord through work, fasting and prayer, to embark on the path of returning home to the Kingdom of Heaven that is within us, we must mentally descend into our hearts and meet the Lord there, only then will the forgiveness of sins and the attainment of eternal life occur.

Hieromartyr Nicholas was born in 1895 in the village of Vypolzovo, Kurmyshsky district, Simbirsk province (now Poretsky district of Chuvashia) in the family of deacon Dimitry Troitsky.
After graduating from the Simbirsk Theological Seminary in 1918 with a first-class degree, Nikolai served for some time as a rural school teacher. In 1920, he was ordained a priest in the village of Sabaevo (now Mordovia). In 1933, Father Nikolai was transferred to the service in the village of Maloe Churashevo, Yadrinsky district.
On November 29, 1937, Archpriest Nikolai Troitsky was searched and arrested. While being held in the Yadrin city prison, Chassr was interrogated on November 30, December 13, 1937, and January 14, 1938. During all the interrogations, the accused priest pleaded not guilty. According to the testimony of false witnesses, Father Nikolai was sentenced to 10 years in prison under article 58, paragraph 10 of part 1.
Archpriest Nikolai was sent to the Alatyr correctional labor colony, which housed more than 4,000 prisoners in those years. Although the colony was not part of the GULAG system, prisoners in it, like in the camps, died from constant malnutrition and diseases because there was no medicine. There are many priests and Orthodox believers among them.
After spending almost 3 years in the Alatyr colony, in March 1941, Father Nikolai was transferred to the Baikal-Amur camp along with the GULAG.
While serving his sentence in the Svobodnenskiy department of BAMLAG, Archpriest Nikolai died on March 10, 1945 and was buried in an unknown grave.
Later, they learned that Nikolai's father had already been released, but he had a severe sore throat, so he could not leave the camp and died after being ill for a week. So the Lord did not take away His martyr's crown from His beloved.
