On Great Tuesday, April 7, 2026, the feast of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos, the day of the repose of St. Tikhon, Patriarch of Moscow (1925), His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia celebrated the Vespers and Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom in the Annunciation Cathedral of the Moscow Kremlin. 
This day marked the 57th anniversary of His Holiness' service in holy orders. On April 7, 1969, on the feast of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Monk Cyril (Gundyaev), at that time a student at the Leningrad Theological Academy, was ordained a deacon by His Holiness's spiritual mentor, Metropolitan Nikodim (Rotov) of Leningrad and Novgorod.
Liturgical hymns were performed by the festive male choir of the Danilov Monastery in Moscow under the direction of Regent Georgy Safonov. 
The service was broadcast live on the Soyuz and Spas TV channels, as well as on the official website of the Russian Orthodox Church. Патриархия.ги .
At the special litany, prayer petitions were offered for His Holiness Patriarch Kirill.:
"We also pray to our All-merciful Lord that He may look with a merciful eye upon us, these grateful prayers, on the fifty-seventh anniversary of the ministry of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill at the Throne of God, and have mercy on him through Your grace and generosity, and grant him all his petitions, forgiving him all his sins, voluntary and involuntary, and favorable to his supplications and alms. Deliver him from all calamity, adversity, tribulation, and infirmities before the Throne of Your dominion, and grant him health with a long life: we beseech You, Our Most Gracious Saviour, hear and have mercy.
We also pray to our All-merciful Lord that this thanksgiving may please us, Your unworthy servants, for Your blessings, which you have poured out abundantly during the fifty-seventh year of Your service at the Throne of God of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, and that in the coming years you may abound upon him the benevolence of Your love for mankind through Your rich mercy and generosity, we beseech You, All-merciful Lord, Hear me and have mercy on me."
Special petitions were also made for Holy Russia. 
Archbishop Savva of Zelenograd read a prayer of thanks for the blessings of God, addressed to His Holiness Patriarch Kirill "during his fifty-seven years of service at the Throne of God.":
"Lord Jesus Christ, our God, the God of all mercy and generosity, His mercy is immeasurable and there is an unsearchable abyss of humanity! I bow down to Your Majesty, with fear and trembling, as unworthy servants, thanking Your benevolence for Your blessings on Your servant, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, who served at the Throne of God during the past fifty-seven years, and now humbly offer thanks, as we glorify, praise, sing, and magnify the Lord, the Lord and Benefactor, We thank you, Your immeasurable and ineffable mercy, humbly and prayerfully.
May you now grant to please and graciously fulfill the supplications of Your servants, and in faithfulness to Your sincere love and in all the virtues that prosper, grant to receive the benefits of Your faithful servant, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, the Russian Church, guided by them, from every evil situation, delivering both peace and serenity to You, together with Your Beginningless Father To Your Most Holy, Good, and Consubstantial Spirit, glorified God in One being, always offer thanks, and deign to bless and glorify Him.: Glory to You, God, our Benefactor, forever and ever."
The Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church read a prayer for Holy Russia. 
At the end of the Liturgy, the glorification of the feast of the Annunciation was celebrated.
While singing the greatness of the Archangel's Voice, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill bowed to the icon of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos in the local row of the iconostasis.
The Primate of the Russian Church addressed the faithful with a Primatial address.
According to tradition, after the service on the feast of the Annunciation, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, together with participants of the service, representatives of the youth movement "Patriarchal Volunteers" and pious believers, released pigeons into the sky from the steps of the Annunciation Cathedral.
