The June mission in Cameroon by the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa has concluded successfully. Under the blessing of Metropolitan Konstantin of Zara, the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Father Georgiy Maximov, head of the Exarchate's Missionary Department, conducted a visit to the Extreme North region of Cameroon. He was accompanied by local clergy, including Dean Father Pavel Atangana and priests Isaac Sumassu, Vincent Sina, and Pavel Ngavutda.

On June 14, 2024, the priests visited the parish of Saint Nectarios of Aegina in the village of Gadissu, where they baptized 49 residents and received three others through the sacrament of Chrismation. The delegation then visited the parish of Saint Alexios in the village of Gangalang.

On June 15, in the city of Moulvoudai, at the parish of Saint Demetrius, they baptized 42 people and received five through Chrismation. In the city of Dukula, at the parish of Saint Sergius of Radonezh, they baptized 43 people and held interviews with three potential candidates for the priesthood.

On June 16, the delegation celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the parish of Saint Cyril, Equal-to-the-Apostles, in the village of Djawar. They then visited the parishes of Saint Macarius in the village of Dikdim and Great Martyr George in the village of Tungu.

Throughout these visits, Father Georgiy distributed icons, delivered sermons, and handed out cross necklaces to the faithful. The priests received Orthodox literature in French, incense, and liturgical supplies. Discussions were also held regarding the future development of the parishes.

"The mission of the Russian Orthodox Church here is very successful; the parishes are populous and have the potential for further growth," noted Father Georgiy Maximov.

Traditionally, many parishioners gifted goats to the visitors. By the end of the trip, Father Georgiy had amassed a herd of six goats, which he left in the care of the local clergy.

During the trip, from June 5 to 17, the delegation of the African Exarchate visited 15 parishes in the western, central, and northern parts of Cameroon. A total of 167 people joined the Russian Orthodox Church, with 120 being baptized and 47 received through the sacrament of Chrismation.
