On August 21, 2026, the Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Constantine of Cairo and North Africa, performed the minor consecration of the newly built church of St. Athanasius the Great in the village of Nyabigega (Migori deanery) in Kenya. During the divine service, the dean of the district, Priest Patapius Chasia, the rector of the parish, Priest Theodore Ouru, and the clergy of the deanery prayed.
Metropolitan Konstantin delivered an archpastoral address, congratulated the faithful on the consecration of the church and presented the parish with a censer.
