On June 4, the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation hosted an international conference: "The spiritual role of Suvorov in the past, present and future", attended by representatives of three countries — Russia, Belarus and Switzerland.
The main purpose of the conference is to disseminate the spiritual heritage of A.V. Suvorov as widely as possible, to familiarize the public with the process of national and church veneration of Suvorov that has been actively developing over the past 20 years, as well as to familiarize with the results of the two-year work of the All-Russian Suvorov Movement to prepare materials for considering the question of canonization of A.V. Suvorov in the face of saints of the Russian Orthodox Church.
The resolution of the conference includes an item on an appeal to the President of Russia V.V. Putin, on the celebration of the 300th anniversary of the birth of A.V. Suvorov. 
The participants of the International Conference received a video message from Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssky, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Interaction with the Armed Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies.
Russian Russian military leader Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov noted the outstanding contribution of the great Russian commander Alexander Vasilyevich Suvorov not only to the military history of Russia, but also to strengthening the spiritual foundations of the Russian army.
Suvorov was a deeply religious man and by his personal example inspired soldiers to military exploits and selfless service to the Fatherland.
Metropolitan Kirill stressed that the spiritual legacy of Suvorov is relevant today. His principles of educating troops based on faith, patriotism and high morality remain a guideline for modern defenders of the Motherland. The study and preservation of this heritage is an important task for both military personnel and the whole society.
Addressing the participants of the conference, Metropolitan Kirill thanked all those who are glad and pay special attention to the consideration of the issue of the canonization of A. V. Suvorov in the face of saints of the Russian Orthodox Church.
It was decided to distribute all the reports in the regions of Russia to popularize the exploits and legacy of Suvorov.
