On October 9, 2026, the advanced training courses "Effective organization of the work of the diocesan Department for Cooperation with the Cossacks" were completed at the Church-wide Postgraduate and Doctoral School named after Saints Cyril and Methodius. 45 representatives of 40 dioceses were trained. The program was prepared by the Synodal Committee for Cooperation with the Cossacks and the Church-wide Postgraduate School.
The participants studied the organization of work of diocesan departments, cooperation with Cossack societies, issues of education and upbringing of youth. The program also includes classes on the history and cultural traditions of the Cossacks, working with the media, attracting grants and preparing reports. Special attention was paid to the spiritual support of the Cossacks participating in the special military operation.
Lectures and practical recommendations were presented by clergymen, scientists, representatives of Cossack organizations and cultural institutions. Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk, Chairman of the Synodal Committee, spoke about the interaction between the Church and the Cossacks.
At the round table, the heads of diocesan departments shared their experience of cooperation with military Cossack societies and public organizations, discussed emerging difficulties and plans for further work.
Students who successfully completed their studies were awarded certificates of advanced training.
