On October 2, the Meeting of Cossack Cadet classes "Cossack Shift", organized by the military Cossack society "Central Cossack Army" with the support of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of the city of Moscow, opened in the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation. The meeting is aimed at developing a system of continuous Cossack education in Moscow and brought together students of Cossack cadet classes and their teachers. The opening ceremony was attended by the executive Secretary of the Synodal Committee for Cooperation with the Cossacks, Priest Timofey Chaikin.
The solemn ceremony began with a prayer performed by Priest Timofey Chaikin. Then the priest greeted the participants of the Meeting on behalf of Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol and Nevinnomyssk, Chairman of the Synodal Committee for Cooperation with the Cossacks, and stressed that the education of the younger generation cannot be reduced to the transfer of knowledge.: "The educational process is something more, something deep, connected with the growth of the spiritual personality of a child, a young man, a girl. And this process is taking place in inseparable unity with representatives of the clergy, the educational and scientific community." According to Fr Timofey, the interaction of state authorities, the Cossacks with their traditions, and the Russian Orthodox Church can make young people "worthy citizens of the earthly and later Heavenly Fatherland."
Yuri Berezetsky, Head of the Department for Work with the Cossacks of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of the City of Moscow, noted that the Central Cossack Army is doing a lot of work on military-patriotic education of young people.
Andrei Fadyukhin, ataman of the Central Cossack Army, addressed the cadets, calling work with youth one of the priorities of his activities. "All the traditional values that exist in our country absolutely and harmoniously correspond to the image of a Cossack. That's why I believe in you, dear guys. I am sure that future chieftains, future generals, and future deputies are sitting in this hall. But if someone fails to build a political career, then you will simply become very good people and bring great benefits to our society, the Cossacks and, of course, Orthodoxy," said the chieftain.
The following events were organized for the teachers:
• seminar-meeting "Organization of activities of Cossack cadet corps", a section on generalizing the experience of working with pupils of Cossack cadet classes and Cossack youth in military-patriotic clubs, master classes with the participation of representatives of Cossack societies. A separate program was prepared for the students. Lectures on the history of the Cossacks, presentation of the project "Cossack Shield", aimed at countering the spread of destructive ideas among young people. The Cossack cadets also took part in master classes on controlling unmanned aerial vehicles using computer simulators, flanking with a Cossack saber and tactical medicine, and visited an exhibition of traditional Cossack weapons.
