During the reconstruction of the central part of Michurinsk, monuments to St. Sebastian of Karaganda (Fomin) and Holy Martyr Vladimir (Bogoyavlensky) were erected near the Ilyinsky Temple.

Both clergymen are directly related to the city. Thus, the Monk Sebastian of Karaganda from 1928 to 1933 served in the Ilyinsky Church until his arrest and exile in Karaganda. Since 2012, a piece of the relics of the monk has been kept in the church, which was delivered from Karaganda by grateful parishioners.

"The Holy Martyr Vladimir (in the world – Vasily Nikiforovich Bogoyavlensky) is also closely connected with Kozlov-Michurinsky. In January 1882, Bishop Palladius (Gankevich) of Tambov and Shatsky ordained him a priest of the Intercession Cathedral Church of the city of Kozlov. Since 1883 he served as rector of the Trinity Church of Kozlov and dean of city churches. He showed himself to be a talented preacher," said the writer and local historian Mikhail Belykh.

After the death of his wife, and then his daughter, he took monastic vows at the Tambov Kazan Monastery and on February 9, 1886, he was elevated to the rank of Archimandrite – abbot of the Kozlovsky Trinity Monastery.

Since 1898, Vladyka has consistently headed three main All-Russian departments: Moscow, St. Petersburg and Kiev. He was martyred in 1918 in Kiev, becoming the first clergyman to suffer for the faith of Christ during the years of persecution of the Church.

The sculptures are made in Moscow from composite materials. At the installation site of the sculptures, their night illumination is provided. After the completion of the landscaping works, a consecration ceremony will take place.
