In the Krasnodar Territory, the Orthodox Church has become a mandatory object in the construction of new neighborhoods – 40 churches will be erected in Krasnodar alone with the expansion of the city.
Kuban Governor Veniamin Kondratiev announced that every microdistrict under construction in the Krasnodar Territory will be planned with a site for an Orthodox church. The statement was made after Patriarch Kirill consecrated the church of Prince Vladimir in Anapa.
Thus, only according to the current version of the master plan of the regional capital, 40 churches will appear in Krasnodar as the city expands by 1,500 hectares.
Kondratiev drew attention to the fact that in the Krasnodar Territory, the site for the church is now being laid in the project of each microdistrict in the same way as the sites for schools and kindergartens.
The governor pointed out that the obligatory church is part of a comfortable neighborhood and a criterion for the quality of urban life.
The press service of the Russian Orthodox Church conveyed the words of Patriarch Kirill, who called the Kuban a stronghold of Russian Orthodoxy. In particular, he expressed his joy at how widespread Orthodoxy is among the Kuban Cossacks.
