The situation in the Kursk region has been difficult for the second day due to shelling by the Armed Forces of Ukraine - many people need evacuation and accommodation in temporary accommodation. The situation in the border town of Sudzha in the Kursk region remains very tense. The rector of the Holy Trinity Church of Suji, Archpriest Yevgeny Shestopalov, takes the elderly, the disabled, and children out of the city. While the temple was open, a shelter was organized there.
"In our Holy Trinity Church in Sudzha, families with children, elderly and infirm people were hiding from the shelling. Everyone slept right on the floor, we fed them. Now I'm helping with the evacuation of people in my car, how many we have already taken out — I didn't count, a lot. Many more people remain in basements, without water and light. We will continue to help in the evacuation of people as long as we have the strength. This is what any normal person would do," said Archpriest Yevgeny Shestopalov.
As a result of the shelling, the Gornal Monastery near Suja was also seriously damaged.
