The medieval Armenian church of St. Sarkis, damaged by the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in the courtyard of which the painter Ivan Aivazovsky is buried, has been completely restored, representative of the Crimean Interethnic Mission Zaur Smirnov told TASS.
In December 2023, an attack on the port of Feodosia was reported. Then Smirnov said that the church of St. Sarkis was damaged, in particular, the stained glass windows were knocked out by the shock wave.
"As far as I know, all the damage has been repaired. Everything has been restored to its original state," Smirnov said.
Surb Sarkis Church was built in 1330, it belongs to the Armenian Apostolic Church. It is considered the oldest Armenian temple in Feodosia.
