During the commemoration of St. George the Victorious, the heavenly patron saint of the army, the head of the diocesan department for cooperation with the Armed Forces and law enforcement agencies of the Magadan Diocese, Priest Vasily Byzgaev, visited the families of soldiers in the area of a special military operation, as well as the relatives of the deceased defender of the Fatherland.
On May 6, the priest visited a family whose spouse is serving in an active unit. Over a cup of tea, issues of providing targeted humanitarian assistance were discussed in a warm, confidential conversation.
On May 7, Father Vasily visited the family of another soldier who serves as a regimental paramedic. During the meeting, the provision of assistance in tactical medicine subjects was discussed. The priest gave sweet gifts to his family and assured them of his constant prayerful support.
On the same day, on the evening of May 7, the priest visited the family of the soldier who died in the area of his home. The priest consecrated the apartment, presented sweet gifts and said words of comfort over a cup of tea.
The visits are carried out as part of the systematic work of the diocesan department for the spiritual care of military personnel and assistance to their loved ones.
