The Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service has announced the acceptance of applications for the XIII Nadezhda Monetova Homeless Aid Competition. Employees and volunteers of church, state and public institutions helping the homeless can participate. This year, applications are accepted not only from Russia, but also from other countries.
The aim of the competition is to improve the quality of assistance to the homeless, to encourage those who devote their lives to this, and also to spread the best practices: the experience of the winners' projects will be presented on the website diaconia.ru specialists will be able to complete internships at their base.
The Expert Council, headed by Archpriest Mikhail Potokin, will evaluate the achievements of the participants, the experience of creating assistance centers and the overall work experience in this field. The winner will receive a prize of 100,000 rubles and a badge, and all participants will receive the book "Medicine for the Homeless: the work of a medical service in a comprehensive care system."
Applications are accepted until September 30 in electronic form to a.yakunin@diaconia.ru .
The competition has been held since 2013. Among the winners are the founders of shelters, rehabilitation centers, and mobile medical centers in different regions of Russia. The award was established in memory of Nadezhda Monetova, a former homeless woman who became a social worker, who tragically died in 2012.
