On February 2, the Russian Church of the Holy Trinity in Belgrade solemnly welcomed the miraculous icon of the Mother of God "Softener of Evil Hearts," according to the Serbian Orthodox Church's official website. The icon arrived from Russia on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of the enthronement of Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus'.

From the early morning, thousands of believers gathered at the Holy Trinity Church to venerate the icon, renowned for its myrrh-streaming and healings. The Divine Liturgy was led by Archpriest Vitaly Tarasyev, head of the Moscow Patriarchate Representation in Belgrade.

Zoran Dabic, the church’s chief sacristan, emphasized the spiritual connection between the Russian and Serbian Orthodox Churches:

"People seeking comfort and love find a response here. This has been made possible by the blessing of both Patriarchs—Porfirije and Kirill—as well as by the centuries-old friendship between our Churches."

Many believers, after venerating the icon, shared their hopes and emotions. The Serbian newspaper "Novosti" quoted Vesna Radlovacki, one of the first pilgrims:

"I don’t know if anything will change in my life, but I feel at peace."

The "Softener of Evil Hearts" icon has been myrrh-streaming for 24 years and has visited Mount Athos five times, as well as numerous countries in Europe, America, and Asia. A church in Cyprus has even been dedicated in its honor.

The icon depicts the Mother of God with seven swords piercing Her heart—a symbol of the suffering She endured for the salvation of the world. This profound meaning is believed to draw countless faithful seeking comfort and prayerful support.
