On January 22, 2026, a press conference "Ethics in the field of artificial intelligence" was held at the Rossiya Segodnya International Multimedia Press Center in Moscow as part of the Religion and Worldview project.
The event was attended by:
• Archpriest Alexander Abramov, Secretary of the Synodal Commission on Bioethics;
• V.V. Kipshidze, Deputy Chairman of the Synodal Department for Church-Society Relations and the Media;
• A.V. Neznamov, Chairman of the Commission for the Implementation of Ethics in the field of AI;
• Mufti A.R. Krganov, Chairman of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia;
• Rabbi A.Yu. Gurevich, Head of the Department of the Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia for Cooperation with Law Enforcement Agencies.
The moderator was Olga Lipich, Head of the Religion and Worldview Department, Coordinator for Cooperation with religious Organizations at the Main Directorate of Information at MIA Rossiya Segodnya.
The participants of the press conference spoke about the upcoming signing of an agreement on the establishment of an Advisory Council, as well as approaches to joint study and discussion of ethical issues arising from the use of AI in various fields.
The signing of the agreement on the establishment of the Advisory Council on Ethics in the field of AI will take place on January 26 in the Cathedral Hall of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior Cathedral as part of the International Christmas Educational Readings.
The participants emphasized that responsible AI development requires not only technological and legal solutions, but also careful attention to issues of human dignity, values and social responsibility.
