During Lent, from February 23 to April 11, 2026, the charity portal "Mercy" holds the campaign "Lent is a time of good deeds." The purpose of the campaign is to collect 6,000 "good hours" of professional help and care before Easter in support of five social projects from different cities of the country.
On the campaign's website, anyone can make a donation and give:
• seriously ill children — 700 hours of professional care (1 hour = 930 rubles, assistance to the wards of the Mercy children's palliative care service);
• dependent people — 700 hours of counseling by a psychologist (1 hour = 844 rubles, assistance to the wards of the Charitable Foundation of St. Gennady Kostromsky and Lyubimogradsky in Kostroma);
• single grandparents — 1,700 hours of work by a cook who will feed them (1 hour = 364 rubles, assistance to the wards of St. Spiridonyevskaya almshouse in Moscow);
• 2300 hours of nursing care for the homeless (1 hour = 270 rubles, assistance to the wards of the Mercy Social Project Development Center in Tyumen);
• the portal Милосердие.ги — 600 hours of technical support for the site to help people continue (1 hour = 1066 rubles).
Any donation will benefit those who find themselves in a difficult situation. These funds help people who are facing difficulties to get the help they need.
"It is no coincidence that St. John Chrysostom wrote: "Are you fasting? Feed the hungry, give drink to the thirsty, and visit the sick." Great Lent is a special time when each of us can show our love for our neighbor through specific acts of mercy," said Yulia Danilova, head of the portal. "We invite our readers not just to donate, but to see how their help turns into specific hours of care and support for those in need."
