The Romanian Orthodox Church has launched Trinitas Film, a new streaming platform described as the world’s first online service fully dedicated to Orthodox Christian content. The official presentation of the project took place at the Patriarchal Palace in Bucharest, according to the Church’s news outlet basilica.ro.

Trinitas Film is a digital extension of Trinitas TV, the television channel owned by the Romanian Patriarchate. The platform brings together religious, cultural, and educational films and programs produced by the Church’s media outlets over recent years. The project was launched with the blessing of Patriarch Daniel of Romania.

According to Archdeacon Gheorghe Popa, director of Trinitas TV, the platform focuses primarily on documentary and auteur cinema, as well as audiovisual projects with strong spiritual and cultural value. More than 150 high-quality films have already been added to the platform’s archive.

The content is organized into thematic sections, including the history of the Romanian Orthodox Church, monasteries and holy sites, the lives of Orthodox saints, and the Holy Land. Additional categories cover Romanian culture, social life, and prominent historical and contemporary figures. A dedicated section, Trinitas Live, allows users to watch Trinitas TV programs in real time.

The platform is accessible via the website trinitas.film and through mobile applications for Android and iOS. Users can save favorite content and receive personalized recommendations within the app.

Access to Trinitas Film follows a mixed model: more than half of the content is available free of charge after registration, while the full catalog requires a subscription priced at €2 per month. The Romanian Patriarchate stated that this approach is intended to support content quality and enable the development of new media projects.
