On Christmas days, it is especially important that the warmth of the holiday touches everyone, especially those who are struggling with the disease. The Diocesan Department for Church Charity and Social Service organized a special charity trip that brought together the efforts of several organizations to congratulate children at the Altai Regional Clinical Center for Maternal and Child Health.
Preparation for the event has become a common thing. The money for the gifts was raised by the Kinonia youth association at the BlagoFest charity festival, organized by the ZORI design factory, as well as by volunteers and benefactors of the Do Good Together organization. These funds were used to purchase gifts and special honey cakes. Touching postcards in the form of butterflies with words of support were made by the pupils of the Sunday School of the Znamensky Convent in Barnaul. And the Rodnik Charitable Foundation, together with the parents of Sunday school children, provided the department with fresh fruits — apples and bananas.
On January 8, a delegation led by the head of the Kinonia Youth Association, Priest John Yefimets, went to the oncology department. They were accompanied by Natalia Borovskaya, a representative of the organization "Creation", an experienced volunteer who has been visiting children in this department for a long time. The priest told the young patients and their parents about the deep meaning of Christmas, and then, together with Maria Kreydun, he sang a Christmas carol, creating an atmosphere of a real holiday. Other departments were not forgotten either — festive gingerbread cookies with congratulations were also given to patients and medical staff of the neuropsychiatric department.
Such events are more than just congratulations. They unite many different people — from children and youth to social activists and clergymen — in a single impulse to do a good deed. They teach mercy, compassion and the ability to share the warmth of your heart with those who need it most, giving hope and reminding that there is a place for miracles and care in the world.
