The project "Pushkari — Streltsy: a ring route for youth" received grant support from Rosmolodezh within the framework of the All-Russian Youth Forum "Gvardeysk-2026".
This year, the Gvardeysk-2026 forum brought together more than 1,500 participants from different regions of Russia. Over 100 initiative projects were submitted to the competition, of which only 10 received expert support. 
The project involves the creation of the first youth tourism and local history route in the vicinity of the villages of Pushkari and Streltsy in the Tambov region, combining active tourism, the study of local history and social volunteerism.
The area around St. Nicholas Church in Pushkari village will become a living laboratory of youth tourism. The idea is chosen as the symbol of the project: "To walk the ancestral path is to better understand your region and be useful to it."
Each trip along the route is not just a walk, but a rich combination of:
• orientation and field practice;
• getting to know the history of St. Nicholas Church and Tatarsky Val;
• targeted assistance to villagers;
• Recordings of centenarians' memories.
Thus, the route becomes a space where young people not only learn the history of their native land, but also become a part of it themselves.
The project was officially presented by its head Ivan Chapaksov at the parish celebration of the Orthodox family "Honey Day in Pushkarskaya Sloboda" on August 8, 2026.
