In Nevinnomyssk, the history of the church in honor of St. Seraphim of Sarov began with the construction of a small chapel. The majestic temple was just being built, and prayer services and akathist readings (hymns of praise and thanksgiving) were already being held in the chapel. Later, a children's Sunday school was opened in the building. Here, on certain days, for more than a year, caring townspeople have been gathering, united by one goal.
Female craftsmen make bandages for hospitals where soldiers of the SVO are treated. The job is disputed. The necessary types of materials were determined in advance, lists were compiled, and contacts with suppliers were established. Special bandages that undergo subsequent sterilization in a specialized facility are made of three types: small, medium and large.
Last spring, the townspeople also mastered the production of cotton-gauze napkins. Hospitals also need them. Usually, the craftsmen, who are also excellent housewives, add boxes with delicious cargo to each batch of dressing material - fresh pies with different fillings melting in their mouths, and other pastries.
The Sarov Temple, as well as other temples of Nevinnomyssk, is a collection center for humanitarian aid. Body suits, warm blankets, camouflage nets, medicines, mineral water, instant soups – all this and much more are sent by parishioners to their area. Humanitarian convoys are not just shipments with various accessories and products. These are symbols of hope, care and solidarity.
