From the beginning of July to the beginning of August 2026, the social services of Moscow parishes continued to provide humanitarian assistance to large and needy families, elderly and seriously ill people, children with disabilities, and church charity projects. Parishioners collected food, clothes, hygiene products and special care products, supported social institutions and helped people in difficult situations.
On July 4, social workers at the church of St. Vladimir the Holy Martyr, Metropolitan of Kiev and Galicia, in Sviblov collected and handed over humanitarian aid for the Dom for Mom center. The center, opened in early June at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Ostankino, provides support to pregnant women and mothers with children who find themselves in difficult situations.
On July 19, the parish of the church of St. Philip, Metropolitan of Moscow, in Meshchanskaya Sloboda, donated hygiene products to St. Spiridonievskaya almshouse. The institution provides assistance to elderly people who need constant care and support. The parishioners of the temple took part in the charity gathering.
During the same period, representatives of Moscow parishes continued to help people in difficult situations. In particular, volunteers from the Valaam farmstead took part in catering for those in need at the Belorussky Railway Station. Such assistance is regularly provided to people who, for various reasons, have been left without a permanent income, housing or other necessary support.
On July 26, the social service of the church of the Great Martyr Anastasia Uzoreshitelnitsa in a Warm Camp handed over 200 kilograms of charitable aid to the boarding house for the elderly "Our Care" in the Ryazan region and 15 needy families with children. The aid included cereals, sugar, pasta, flour, sweets, vegetable oil and tea, baby food, hygiene products and household chemicals, new children's and adult clothing, shoes, maternity clothes and a baby carriage. There are 30 people living in the Nasha Zabota boarding house, most of whom are bedridden and in need of constant care.
On July 27, the social service of the Church of the Nativity of Christ in Chernyovo handed over food aid to large families in Southern Butovo. The parish provides such support on an ongoing basis: food is collected here weekly for families in difficult situations, as well as seasonal clothing, shoes and diapers. Among the wards of the social service are large families with six to eleven children, as well as families with children with disabilities.
On the same day, the social service of the Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Krylatskoye handed over a batch of special thickeners for food and drinks to the church charity project "Communion". They are intended for children with swallowing disorders — dysphagia. The project helps orphaned children with multiple disabilities. The necessary funds were raised thanks to the participation of the parishioners and youth of the temple.
In early August, the social service of the Church of St. Innocent, Metropolitan of Moscow, in Beskudnikov donated more than 250 items of clothing and toys to the charity project "Good Things" for families in difficult situations. 43 new and 33 used toys, 35 new and 28 used adult clothing items, as well as 50 new and 62 used children's items were collected. The donated items will be distributed to families in need.
Assistance to children and families continued in preparation for the new school year. On August 6, the mercy service of the Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Medvedkov announced the collection of school supplies for children from large and low-income families. Parishioners were asked to hand over notebooks, albums, pens, pencils and other necessary supplies for studying.
In July and early August, the assistance provided by the Moscow parishes reached various categories of those in need. Support was provided to large and low-income families, pregnant women and mothers with children in difficult situations, elderly and seriously ill people, children with disabilities and wards of charitable institutions. Along with targeted assistance, parishioners participated in providing social projects and institutions with food, clothing, hygiene products and special care products.
