On September 14, 2025, at 18:10, the premiere screening of the feature-length documentary "Antonin Kapustin — the creator of Russian Palestine" will take place on the Rossiya-Kultura TV channel.
Russian Palestine is not only and not so much the church buildings and land plots in the Holy Land acquired and improved by the labors of Archimandrite Antonin Kapustin, but rather the spiritual legacy left by the great ascetic who created "our possessions" in Palestine.
Father Antonin, a native of the rural clergy, became one of the main actors of Russian diplomacy in the Middle East in the 19th century. An original scientist and writer, he possessed encyclopedic knowledge and was an extraordinarily gifted and multifaceted personality who proved himself to be a major Byzantinist, archaeologist, archaeographer, and astronomer. To an equal extent, he was also endowed with diplomatic talent. 
The history of Archimandrite Antonin's ministry in Jerusalem is the story of the struggle for Russia's spiritual influence and presence in the Holy Land. The experience of long service in the Orthodox East, intelligence, innate tact, the ability to attract influential people to his side, as well as the ability to hold a punch and journalistic temperament, allowed him to fulfill this truly great mission in very difficult circumstances.
Father Antonin also possessed great spiritual strength, which helped him overcome not only the resistance of numerous ill-wishers, but also personal weaknesses and passions inherent in man. Russian Russians are the fruit of a spiritual struggle, and today they represent the architectural landscape of modern Jerusalem, which is unique in its beauty and monumentality of Russian buildings.
At the beginning of the film, His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, Chairman of the Committee of Honorary Members of the Imperial Orthodox Palestine Society, gives an introductory speech.
The film, produced by Studio Ikona, was created with the state financial support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and the participation of the Imperial Orthodox Palestinian Society. Directed by Artyom Prokhorov, written by Elena Milyaeva, produced by Igor Lapshin. The duration of the film is 75 minutes.
