Archimandrite Philip (Vasiltsev), representative of the Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia to the Patriarch of Antioch and All the East, took part in a charity event on October 19, 2024 to transfer humanitarian aid to Russian compatriots. Russian Russian Orthodox Church in Lebanon and the Russian House in Beirut organized the action and took place at the Russian Center in Batrun.
During the campaign, sets of clothes, food and medicines were distributed to Russian compatriots who were forced to relocate from southern Lebanon and southern Beirut due to military operations. Sakkar, member of the Coordinating Council of communities of Russian compatriots of North Africa and the Middle East S. Safo, head of the Russian Orthodox Church in Beirut D.A. On the same day, a memorial service was held in the Church of the Annunciation of the Most Holy Theotokos. The divine service was performed by Archimandrite Philip, the website of the Russian Orthodox Church's compound in Beirut reports.
