The third annual conference "Just with Mercy. Partnerships, infrastructure, trends in charity of the Charity portal Милосердие.ги It was held on June 9, 2026 in Moscow for managers and employees of non-profit organizations, representatives of business, government agencies, the media, the research community and organizations providing grants.
Archpriest Mikhail Potokin, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Church Charity and Social Service, spoke at the event. He spoke about the goals of the charity and the challenges for it in the future.
"The meaning of charity lies primarily in the human relationships that arise between people when they begin to provide assistance," Father Mikhail said.
The priest noted that the changes that occur in a person are important when providing assistance. He cited as an example the activities of the Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission, thanks to which more than 7,000 volunteers have already traveled to Donbass, and many of them are returning internally changed.
"The changes that occur inside a person when they touch trouble are the most precious thing that can happen, because this is the meaning of charity," said Archpriest Mikhail Potokin. In addition, he touched upon the role of artificial intelligence in charity and the possibilities of its application in the future.
Vasily Rulinsky, press secretary of the Synodal Department for Charity and host of the "Doers" program on Vera Radio, also spoke at the session "Media Challenges for NGOs Today." He spoke about the Department's communication projects, as well as about the platform "Let's Help" and the "Platform of Mercy".

The Just with Mercy Conference is held annually for everyone involved in solving social problems and helping people. The forum is organized by the charity portal Милосердие.ги with the information support of the Synodal Department for Charity.
The Russian Orthodox Church has been helping civilians in Donbas since February 2022. There are 12 church aid centers operating in the border areas, Moscow and the conflict zone, which have processed over 390,000 requests. More than 4,300 tons of humanitarian aid have been transferred to the victims. More than 7,400 volunteers participated in helping the victims. As part of the project to restore private housing for those in need in the conflict zone, 786 private homes have been restored. The Patriarchal Humanitarian Mission coordinates the Church's social assistance in the regions of the conflict zone.
