Ten kilometers from Yelabuga, in the ancient village of Bolshaya Kachka, the restoration of the Holy Trinity Church, an architectural monument of the early 19th century, continues. The work is being carried out by caring residents with the support of the volunteer project "Where the streams lead", whose specialists regularly come to inspect the temple and work out solutions to complex issues.
At the moment, the volunteers have already managed to clear the territories of the refectory and the bell tower, as well as install temporary windows in the altar and the central aisle. However, there is still a lot of work ahead: it is necessary to preserve the central vault with the shelter of the main part, clear the floor of construction debris, separate the main part from the refectory with a partition and make a roof.
For the successful restoration of the Holy Trinity Church, assistance is required in the form of lumber for the installation of scaffolding on the bell tower and the central aisle, bricks and building mix. Specialists are also urgently needed: masons, carpenters and all those who are not indifferent, ready to help with the clearing of the territory and the removal of land.
In September, Alina Vildanova, a student at Kazan State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, conducted an inspection and measurements of the building as part of the development of a restoration project, which will be her final qualifying work.
In addition, local residents are actively engaged in local history activities: they collect historical information and photographic documents about the desecrated shrine, archival data about which were lost during the hard times, and also make up pilgrimage routes around the area.
