On December 5, 2023, the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation in Moscow hosted a general meeting of the organizers and participants of the offering of the relics of the Great Martyr George the Victorious in the diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church, held as part of the All-Russian Prayer for Victory.
With the blessing of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, the ark with the relics of the heavenly patron of the Russian army, Great Martyr George the Victorious, visited more than 100 cities in all regions of our country from May to November.
During the meeting, the results of the all-Russian campaign were summed up. Russians Russian Orthodox Church's Chairman of the Commission for the Development of Pilgrimage and the Bringing of Shrines, Archbishop Matthew of Yegoryevsky, Deputy Head of the World Russian People's Council K.V. Malofeev, Head of the Secretariat of the Russian Orthodox Church S.Y. Rudov and invited guests took part in the event at the Public Chamber.
Archbishop Matthew of Yegoryevsky addressed the participants of the meeting with a welcoming speech. He thanked everyone who made efforts for the common good cause. Over the past six months, over 800 thousand believers have been able to worship the shrine.
Then the organizers of the offering noted the selfless work of the clergy and employees of the VRNS, whose efforts managed to unite the whole country in national prayer.
