Metropolitan Konstantin of Zaraisk arrived in Cameroon, where he met with the faithful of the Trinity Parish in the city of Douala. There, Vladyka performed the rite of joining the Orthodoxy of twelve people and talked with future seminarians.

On October 13, Metropolitan Leonid led the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Life-Giving Trinity in Douala. He was joined by priests Georgy Maximov, Pavel Atangana, and the parish rector, Herman Mbarga. The Liturgy was attended by local residents and Russian expatriates. Before the service, Metropolitan Leonid conducted the rite of reception into Orthodoxy for twelve people, marking an important event for the parish. Following the service, he gave a pastoral address and presented the parish with an icon of the Theotokos. Crosses and icons were distributed to the attendees as a memento.

After the Liturgy, Metropolitan Leonid interviewed candidates for seminary enrollment and three individuals preparing for ordination into the priesthood.

This mission continues the work begun in June 2024, when a delegation from the African Exarchate visited 15 parishes in Cameroon, bringing 167 people into the Russian Orthodox Church. Of these, 120 were baptized, and 47 were received through the sacrament of Chrismation.

Last year, a non-canonical community from Cameroon, led by David Quin, requested to join the Russian Church. The non-canonical jurisdiction they previously belonged to did not meet their expectations, and many of the faithful were seeking a church that preserved apostolic and biblical traditions.
