Patriarchal Exarch of Africa begins visiting parishes in the Republic of Congo

The Patriarchal Exarch of Africa, Metropolitan Constantine of Cairo and North Africa, arrived in Pointe Noire on March 4, 2026, a major port city on the Atlantic coast and the second largest city in the Republic of the Congo. On the trip, the bishop is accompanied by the chairman of the missionary department of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa, Priest Georgy Maksimov, Personal secretary V.V. Dendyuk and translator I.S. Krylov.
On that day, the exarch visited the parish of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker on the territory of the former building of the Consulate of the Russian Federation in the Congo, where he performed a prayer service to the saint. The service was attended by Honorary Consul of the Russian Federation in the Republic of the Congo D.M. Ngebana, Dean of the parishes of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa in the Congo, Priest Siluan Nkunku, local residents and Russian citizens living in that country.
At the end of the prayer service, Metropolitan Konstantin addressed the audience with an archpastoral address. Vladyka Konstantin presented the parish with an icon, and the faithful with crosses, icons, and Orthodox literature in French, prepared by the St. Mark's Spiritual and Educational Center of the Patriarchal Exarchate of Africa. The bishop also held a spiritual conversation with the audience.
On March 5, the hierarch visited the parishes of St. Gregory the Theologian in Dolisi, the Nativity of the Most Holy Theotokos in Nkaya, and St. John Chrysostom in the village of Nziena.
Metropolitan Konstantin served a prayer service at each parish, presented the community with an icon and taught the faithful pastoral guidance. Orthodox prayer books, catechisms, crosses and icons were also distributed to everyone.
At the parish of St. John Chrysostom, local military personnel were among those gathered, undergoing catechumens and preparing to receive the sacrament of Baptism.
Vladyka Konstantin also conducted interviews with candidates for ordination to the priesthood and those wishing to study at a theological seminary.
