On February 12, 2026, a general meeting of the clergy of the Moscow Metropolia was held in the Cathedral Hall of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow, under the chairmanship of His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia, who is the head of the Moscow Metropolia.
Opening the meeting, the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church greeted the audience. Metropolitan Pavel of Krutitsy and Kolomna was elected Deputy Chairman of the assembly, and Archbishop Axius of Podolsk and Lyubertsy was elected secretary. His Holiness Patriarch Kirill invited Metropolitan Pavel and Archbishop Axius to take their seats on the presidium of the assembly. His Holiness then announced the agenda.
To prepare the final document, the composition of the editorial committee was approved, which included: Archbishop Axius of Podolsk and Lyubertsy, Chairman of the commission, Bishop Kirill of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov, Archpriest Dionysius Kazantsev, Archpriest Peter Ivanov, reader Alexander Grishin. 
The mandate commission consisted of Bishop Kirill of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov (as chairman), Archpriest Dionysius Kazantsev and Deacon Pavel Bushkin. 
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill delivered a keynote address.
At the beginning of his speech, the Primate of the Russian Church announced statistical data on the Moscow Archdiocese. Currently, there are 1,228 parishes, 1,682 churches, 318 chapels, 23 monasteries and 9 farmsteads in the metropolis. 
"This year we celebrate an important date — the fifth anniversary of the formation of the Moscow Archdiocese. I can say with confidence that the canonical administrative foundation laid five years ago turned out to be solid and allowed us to build an effective system of church administration. But this system does not work by itself, but thanks to your daily work, sometimes unnoticeable from the outside, but so important for strengthening church life in the Moscow region," His Holiness emphasized.
In his report, the Primate touched upon a number of topical issues of the development of church life in the region. 
Then His Holiness Patriarch Kirill answered a number of questions from the participants of the meeting. 
Then Metropolitan Pavel of Krutitsky and Kolomna made a report, who provided an overview of the activities of the inter-diocesan and diocesan departments of the Moscow Archdiocese over the past year. 
The Primate of the Russian Church thanked Metropolitan Pavel and commented on the speech. 
"It is only through such reports that you understand what a long way our Church has come in a short time, including, of course, the Moscow Archdiocese. I thank you, all the clergy," said His Holiness the Patriarch.
"Indeed, many events, many important topics were touched upon. But the most important thing is that the work that people need is really being done. This is pastoral work in new forms, something that we could not even have dreamed of a few years ago. Therefore, once again I would like to express my gratitude to you, all the clergy of the Moscow Archdiocese, and wish all of us in this way, by increasingly expanding the range of our interaction with society and with public organizations, paying special attention to the mental and spiritual state of our youth, to continue the work that truly expresses the Church's concern for his people. God grant that we continue to work in this way without weakening or weakening our efforts," His Holiness added. 
Bishop Kirill of Sergiev Posad and Dmitrov said that according to the results of the calculations of the mandate commission, 1,151 people are present in the hall — most of the clergy of the Moscow Archdiocese. Some of the clergy remained on duty in the main churches of the metropolis.
Archpriest Mark Ermolaev, Chairman of the Inter-Diocesan Department for Cooperation with the Armed Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies and the Cossacks, made a presentation.
Next, a report was presented by the chairman of the Inter-Diocesan Department for Church Charity and Social Service, Archpriest Georgy Muravlev.
Archbishop Axios of Podolsk and Lyubertsy, Secretary of the Assembly, announced the draft final document. After discussion, the document was adopted.
In the final resolution, the Moscow Metropolitan Assembly, in particular, expresses serious concern about the growing number of problems related to migration, the incessant propaganda of occultism, neo-paganism and other forms of pseudo-religion, emphasizing the need to focus the efforts of the entire society on preserving the national, cultural and religious identity of the Moscow region.
Metropolitan Pavel of Krutitsy and Kolomna cordially thanked all the participants of the meeting for their work.
As a gift to the clergy of the Moscow Archdiocese, His Holiness Patriarch Kirill handed over the calendars for the year 2026 "My Hope, Mother of God. The Orthodox Calendar" and his book "The Steps of Repentance. Lenten sermons."
