Russian Russian Literature Society Chairman Kirill, His Holiness Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, presided over the opening ceremony of the IV Congress of the Russian Literature Society and the International Pedagogical Congress "The Legacy of K.D. Ushinsky and Modern Education" in the conference hall of the Lomonosov Building of the Lomonosov Moscow State University in Moscow on November 9, 2023.
The congress was attended by representatives of the Russian Orthodox Church — Metropolitan Tikhon of Crimea and Simferopol, Chairman of the Synodal Missionary Department Bishop Euthymius of Lukhovitsky, Chairman of the Synodal Department for Church Relations with Society and the Media V.R. Legoyda, Rector of the Russian Orthodox University of St. John the Theologian A.V. Shchipkov.
4097 participants from 78 subjects of the Russian Federation and 24 countries were registered to participate in the IV Congress. The format of the congress is mixed. On the territory of the Russian Federation, face—to-face events are organized in 17 classical and 4 pedagogical universities, abroad - in 6 universities in China, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Slovakia.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and V.A. Sadovnichy held an award ceremony for the winners of the International Competition "Teacher and His Students in the CIS", dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of Konstantin Dmitrievich Ushinsky and the Year of the Russian Language as the Language of Interethnic Communication in the CIS countries.
The competition was held in three categories from March 3 to September 1, 2023. 44 applications were received from 8 countries. According to the results of the expert evaluation, the winners were determined.
His Holiness Patriarch Kirill and V.A. Sadovnichy presented diplomas of the winners and prize-winners of the International Competition "Teacher and His Students in the CIS".
