Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia sent birthday greetings to Russian President Vladimir Putin, praising his decades-long service to the nation and expressing gratitude for his consistent support of the Russian Orthodox Church.

In a message published on the official website of the Moscow Patriarchate, the head of the Church commended Putin's leadership, highlighting the president's role in strengthening Russia’s sovereignty and promoting fair international relations.

“More than a quarter of a century ago, you were called to a vital and challenging service, bearing great responsibility for the country and care for millions of fellow citizens,” the Patriarch wrote. “It is heartening to witness how, under your leadership, Russia has steadily followed the path of development.”

Patriarch Kirill offered special thanks for Putin’s continued attention to the Church’s mission and his support for socially significant initiatives. He noted that joint efforts between the state, the Church, and people of goodwill have advanced projects aimed at uniting society, reinforcing moral and spiritual values, promoting patriotism, and preserving interethnic peace.

“I wish you unfailing strength, generous help from God, and blessed success in your continued service for the good of the country and its people,” the Patriarch concluded.

President Putin turned 73 today. He also received birthday greetings from several world leaders, including those of CIS countries, as well as from China, North Korea, India, and Turkey.
