Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia called the construction of new churches in Moscow a "completely unique phenomenon." The head of the Russian Orthodox Church said this while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin at the Zaryadye Concert hall.

At the same time, Patriarch Kirill noted that hundreds of churches are not being built anywhere in the world now, "nowhere, but in Moscow they are being built." He also drew attention to the fact that at first there was a modest goal - to build 200 churches in Moscow, but in fact there will be much more of them now. "And, again, not because someone orders from above, but because this is a real need of people. And this construction of new churches is a completely unique phenomenon," said the primate of the Russian Orthodox Church.

And he emphasized that with such a spiritual attitude, Russia is invincible, because "the nation wins first of all by the power of the spirit."

Comparing the spiritual situation with the West, Patriarch Kirill said that "even the spiritual leaders there have already buried their ministry," since "the secular Western godless society gave them a small sector of existence, and they agreed with this role."
