Applications for the All-Russian (with the possibility of foreign participation) meaningful reading competition for students of pedagogical and other fields of study "Reasonable, kind, eternal" are open. It is conducted by the Russian Academy of Education and the Publishing Council of the Russian Orthodox Church.
Since 2026, for the first time, students of universities and institutions of secondary vocational education are invited to participate in the competition, not only in pedagogical, but also in other areas of training: future doctors, engineers, military personnel, representatives of all specialties. The only exceptions are those who receive professional acting education.
Individual and collective participation is possible (no more than three people). Each applicant (or team) can submit one work to the competition.
The competition includes four nominations: "The Search for Spiritual Truth: Russian Russian Russian Russian classical prose", "The spiritual dimension of Russian poetry: from classics to modernity", "Faith and courage: moral ideals of Russian prose about the war", "Heroism and faith: poems of Russian poets about the war".
At the first stage, participants must submit creative works, including a video recording of the recitation of an excerpt or an entire work and a creative essay explaining the choice of this work.
Applications and the correspondence qualifying stage will be held from August 25 to October 25 inclusive.

On August 25, the Multimedia Press Center of the international media group Russia Today in Moscow hosted a press conference dedicated to the beginning of the third season of the Reasonable, Kind, Eternal contest.
The event was attended by Metropolitan Kliment of Kaluga and Borovsk, Chairman of the Publishing Council, and O.Y. Vasilyeva, President of the Russian Academy of Education.
"The contest is based on an appeal to Russian classical and modern literature as an inexhaustible source of morality and morality. We want to return the tradition of understanding the artistic word, move away from superficial reading to a deep dialogue with the author, support and revive the oral traditions of literary readings," O.Y. Vasilyeva emphasized.
"The Reasonable, Kind, Eternal contest is becoming an important milestone in the preservation and dissemination of Russian literature. We open our doors to anyone who feels a vocation to the word, be it a philologist or a future engineer. After the finals in Moscow, the winners return to their cities and spark interest in literature in the hearts of their peers. We are convinced that as long as the classics are alive, from Pushkin to the present, our people and our culture are alive," said Metropolitan Clement.
