January 13 marked the 30th anniversary of the death of Archimandrite Pavel (Gruzdev). On the eve of the memorable date, a memorial room and a plaque dedicated to Archimandrite Paul were opened in the gatehouse on the territory of the Resurrection Cathedral in Tutaev. Father Pavel lived in this gatehouse in 1992-1996.
The opening ceremony was attended by Bishop Veniamin of Rybinsk and Romanovo-Borisoglebsky, clergy of the Rybinsk diocese and parishioners. Archpriest Grigory Gogishvili, the ancient guardian of the Rybinsk diocese, rector of the church of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God in the city of Rybinsk, as well as relatives of Father Pavel, Elena Alexandrovna and Alexander Alexandrovich Rodinsky–Gruzdev, played a special role in creating the museum exhibition. Vladyka Veniamin supplemented the exhibition with personal belongings of Archimandrite Pavel.
Information about the working hours and the possibility of visiting the memorial room of Father Pavel (Gruzdev) will be published later.

Archimandrite Pavel (Gruzdev) survived almost a century with all its turbulent and tragic events, caught the time of revolution and persecution of the Church. He had 11 years of camps. Through all these years, Father Pavel carried a deep, sincere and simple faith in Christ, and kept love and mercy for people in his heart.
For more than 30 years, since 1960, Father Pavel has been rector of the Trinity Church in the village of Verkhne-Nikulsky, Nekouzsky district (formerly Mologsky district). He was known far beyond the village and even the region. All kinds of people came to him for blessed consolation and solutions to life's problems. Father Pavel taught Christian love simply: through parables and life stories.
Since June 1992, for health reasons, Archimandrite Pavel moved to Tutaev. Despite his complete blindness and serious illness, he continued to serve and preach, and to receive the people.
Father Pavel departed to the Lord on January 13, 1996. The funeral service was performed by Archbishop Mikheyof Yaroslavl and Rostov, with 38 priests and 7 deacons present. Archimandrite Pavel (Gruzdev) is buried at the Leontievsky cemetery in Tutaev. His grave has become a place of pilgrimage for Orthodox Christians all over the world.
