Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II held a ceremony of world-giving at the open altar of St. Trdat. Armenian King Trdat Arshakuni was the first in the world to adopt Christianity as the state religion of his country (301).

The ceremony was attended by many guests, including foreign delegations, representatives of the opposition, and the Church.
"We appeal to the international community, our sister churches, ecclesiastical and diplomatic representatives to take impressive measures to restrain Azerbaijan's expansionist aspirations and all new demands put forward from positions of strength," Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II said during the ceremony of world illumination.
"As well as to return the border territories seized from Armenia, protect the violated rights of forcibly displaced Artsakh Armenians, free the captured Armenians and save the Armenian cultural and spiritual heritage of Artsakh from expropriation and destruction. Dear people, it is necessary to unite, protect our native country from new losses and shocks, and start a healthy dialogue in domestic political life," the Catholicos added.
