On September 4, 2026, the Kamchatka Reads All-Russian Book Festival opened in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. The event was held at the Vitus Bering Kamchatka State University (69 Leninskaya St.) as part of the All-Russian project "Reading Russia". 
From September 4 to 6, the festival hosted a book fair, where several dozen book publishers from all over Russia present their novelties. As part of the educational program, guests will meet with famous authors and present new books. About 80 events are planned at 7 festival venues, which will be attended by about 45 speakers.
The publishing House of the Moscow Patriarchate is presenting its new books at the All-Russian Kamchatka Reads Book Festival, which were previously presented at the 39th Moscow International Book Fair. Among them there is a large selection of spiritual and educational Orthodox literature, books for children, adolescent and youth audiences, educational publications. The central place in the exhibition is occupied by editions of the works of the Primate of the Russian Orthodox Church. The publishing house's stand has a large selection of calendar and liturgical publications for 2027.
At the Kamchatka Reads Festival, the Moscow Patriarchate Publishing House also presented Metropolitan Nestor (Anisimov)'s recently released book, My Kamchatka. The publication is one of the best examples of Orthodox spiritual prose. Its author is Metropolitan Nestor (Anisimov), one of the greatest missionaries of the 20th century, educator, apostle of Kamchatka, founder of the Kamchatka Charitable Orthodox Brotherhood, hero of the First World War, first bishop of Petropavlovsk and Kamchatka, participant of the All—Russian Local Council, creator of the Kamchatka Metochion and the House of Mercy in Harbin, spiritual leader of the Far Eastern branch of Russian emigration. The book "My Kamchatka" is not just a documentary chronicle — it is a lively, sincere and heartfelt story about God's Providence, faith and love, written in a wonderful literary language. The historical essay "Orthodoxy in Siberia", which is included in the book, remains to this day the only integral church historical work on the history of Orthodoxy in Siberia. The publication is decorated with photographs of the author from a photo album presented by him to Tsarevich Alexei during the imperial audience in Peterhof in 1911.
