The parishes of the Kazan Diocese regularly provide assistance to military personnel performing their duties in the area of a special military operation and civilians remaining in the conflict zone. On a monthly basis, the diocesan relief service "Mercy — Kazan" publishes information material on the development of the humanitarian mission during the reporting period.
Parishioners of the Church of the Nativity of Christ in Kazan made 100 camouflage nets for the front with their own hands last month. In addition, the parish has sent generators, heating devices, communications equipment, building materials, medicines, household appliances and accessories, hygiene products, clothing, bedding and underwear, and food.
Humanitarian supplies were sent in three directions of the front. The clergy and parishioners of the temple thank the caring residents of Kazan for the support of the soldiers.
The volunteers of the Sofia parish of Kazan daily produce tactical equipment and equipment for the soldiers, sew clothes, blankets and bed linen, complete specialized first-aid kits, collect food aid and hygiene products. Volunteers regularly transfer the aid collected at the parish to the front.
Maria Yefremova, a volunteer from the Kazan parish of St. Seraphim of Sarov, is actively involved in the humanitarian mission. In June, she made the 53rd humanitarian flight to the SWO area. Maria delivered to the military units the equipment necessary to protect life and health, construction tools, medicines, sleeping bags, stretchers and other things necessary for military personnel. The Kazan Diocese, parishioners and benefactors of the St. Seraphim's Church and the Raifa Bogoroditsky Monastery, as well as caring residents of Tatarstan, helped to purchase items from the list of urgent needs.
"In June, the delivery was complicated by the lack of fuel in the new territories. I had to load cans with a total volume of 110 liters and purchase an electronic pump to refuel faster without lifting a heavy canister. Stops have been extremely dangerous lately — the tracks are under constant enemy control, you need to look for a relatively safe place to pour gasoline without remaining in plain sight. Along the entire route, I kept the alarm channel open and tried not to be distracted by watching the sky. I didn't exceed the speed limit to save fuel. Even though it was 30 degrees hot, I didn't turn on the air conditioner, I kept the windows ajar. Thanks to this, there was enough gasoline for 1,200 kilometers. At the front, large quantities of medicines, plates and screws for fastening bones, technical products for fighting UAVs, generators, and power plants are still needed. Our help is urgently needed right now. By saving the lives of our soldiers, we are saving our homes," commented Maria Yefremova.
Other parishes of the Kazan Diocese are also actively involved in the humanitarian mission in support of the military personnel of the Free Military District. Aid collections and labor actions also support rural parishes.
