On 20 November, Patriarch Kirill celebrated his 79th birthday with a meeting at the Kremlin, where President Vladimir Putin congratulated him and highlighted his role in strengthening church–state relations. The Patriarch emphasized the importance of cooperation for the good of the people. Greetings also arrived from international leaders, including Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić and Patriarch Porfirije. The day began with a Divine Liturgy at the Alexander Nevsky Skete.

A delegation of the Russian Orthodox Church, led by Metropolitan Vikentiy of Tashkent and Central Asia, concluded a pilgrimage to Egypt on 15 November. The group visited ancient monasteries of the Nitrian Desert and holy sites in the Eastern and Western deserts, including the monasteries of Sts. Macarius the Great, Paisius the Great, and Anthony the Great. In Cairo, they met representatives of the Coptic Church and toured historic Christian landmarks.

On 16 November in Damascus, Patriarch John X of Antioch presided over a liturgy marking the anniversary of GOPA-DERD, the Church’s humanitarian arm. He praised its work throughout the years of conflict and called for unity in serving those in need. The celebration coincided with the department’s delegation visit to Germany, where discussions focused on Syria’s long-term humanitarian needs.

President Vladimir Putin awarded the Order of Friendship to Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem on 16 November, recognizing his contribution to fostering spiritual and cultural ties with Russia. The Order, established in 1994, is among Russia’s major state honors and has previously been awarded to Patriarch Kirill and other prominent figures.

On 16 November, the Transfiguration Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in the village of Moshny, Cherkasy region, was reportedly seized by supporters of the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU). According to accounts, the attackers used force, including bats and gas, while police did not intervene. The incident followed a contested re-registration of the parish that local believers had opposed, and reportedly involved outside groups brought in to complete the takeover.

At an extraordinary session on 11 November, the Holy Synod of the Orthodox Church of the Czech Lands and Slovakia voiced concern over pressure facing UOC clergy and faithful amid the Ukrainian conflict. The Synod affirmed solidarity with those affected and supported Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew’s call for unity and cooperation within global Orthodoxy.

The XXVII World Russian People’s Council met on 18–19 November at Moscow’s Christ the Savior Cathedral, focusing on “The 80th Anniversary of Victory: The Military and Spiritual Feat of the Defenders of the Fatherland.” Discussions addressed national memory, traditional values, military–civil unity, and spiritual support for soldiers. Patriarch Kirill chaired the plenary session, and President Putin sent greetings to participants. At one session, Metropolitan Kirill of Stavropol reported that around 50,000 Russian servicemen had been baptized in the area of the special military operation.
