On the Feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon called on clergy and the faithful to pray for peace in the Middle East, where conflicts continue to escalate. According to the Orthodox Church in America's website, Metropolitan Tikhon emphasized the importance of praying for peace, for wisdom among world leaders, and for healing for the victims of violence and reconciliation among all parties involved in the conflict. "Our Lord Jesus Christ is Himself the Peace of God, and this Peace entered the world through the Most Holy Theotokos," Metropolitan Tikhon said, urging fervent prayers for divine peace.
Metropolitan Tikhon also requested support for the Orthodox charity organization International Orthodox Christian Charities (IOCC), which provides aid to those affected in the region. Based in Baltimore, Maryland, IOCC is actively working in Middle Eastern countries, including Lebanon, where it helps local communities and refugees gain access to clean water by constructing reservoirs and implementing solar-powered pumping systems.
Additionally, IOCC provides medical assistance through mobile units and renovated clinics, helping thousands of people receive primary healthcare in underserved areas. Metropolitan Tikhon expressed hope that supporting this organization would alleviate the suffering of those caught in conflict zones and bring peace to the region
