On the first day of the start of its multi-day route on June 6, the XXVII Great Volga Procession came to Bogoroditsky Monastery of Life on Lake Seliger.
This year's procession is dedicated to the theme: "Go and make disciples of all nations" (Matthew 28:19) and memorable dates — the 755th anniversary of the founding of the Tver Diocese and the 755th anniversary of the birth of the holy Grand Duke Mikhail Tversky.
At the all—night vigil in the Gate Church in honor of the Apostles John the Theologian and Andrew the First-Called, the clergy, sisters, pupils, parishioners of the monastery and guests of the Seliger region were able to worship the shrines of the Volga procession - the ark with fragments of the relics of the patron saints of the Tver land and the icon of the Cathedral of the Tver Saints.
In the early morning hours of Monday, June 8, Bogoroditsky Monastery conducted a religious procession.
On Thursday, June 11, the Procession visited the ancient village of Yeltsy, Selizharovsky district, where the Pokrovsky compound of the Bogoroditsky Monastery of Life is located.
The village is located 350 m from the Volga River and is famous for its ancient healing springs, the main of which has been known since 1477 and was popularly called "Zdorovets".
