From September 11 to September 13, 2026, the ark with the right hand of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt was in Yekaterinburg. In three days, 81,600 people worshiped the great shrine.
On the evening of September 11, the ark was solemnly welcomed at the Church on the Blood. The shrine was accompanied by a representative of the Greek delegation from the island of Corfu, Archimandrite Christodoulos (Triantafilos).
The meeting was organized in accordance with the traditions of veneration of St. Spyridon in Corfu, where his incorruptible relics are located. The main orchestra of the Central Military District headquarters was playing on the square in front of the temple. This is exactly how religious processions are held on the days of the saint's memory on the Greek island, accompanied by an orchestra. The flag of Corfu was raised next to the Church on the Blood.
The ceremony was attended by Metropolitan Evgeny of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye, bishops and clergy of the Yekaterinburg Archdiocese, representatives of state authorities and public organizations. After the ark was brought into the temple, a prayer service was held.
Throughout the entire stay of the shrine in Yekaterinburg, access to it was open around the clock, and prayer before the venerable relics was performed incessantly.
On September 12, the feast of the transfer of the relics of the Blessed Grand Duke Alexander Nevsky, Metropolitan Eugene, co-served by Bishop Sergius of Alapaevsky and Irbit, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Church on the Blood. After the ceremony, a prayer service was held in honor of Prince Alexander Nevsky and St. Spyridon of Trimifunt.
In the evening of the same day, the head of the Yekaterinburg Archdiocese led an all—night vigil, and on the morning of September 13, the Divine Liturgy. The bishops and clergy of the metropolis concelebrated with him during the divine service.
At the end of the Liturgy, Metropolitan Eugene thanked Metropolitan Nectarios of Kerkyra, Baksia and Diapontia Islands and representatives of the Greek delegation for bringing the shrine to Russia. On behalf of Metropolitan Nektarios, Archimandrite Christodoul addressed the faithful.
On September 13, the ceremonial departure of the ark took place. Among those who worshiped the shrine were also participants of the international project "Keepers of Memory".
The bringing of the relics of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt was organized by the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate and the Commission of the Russian Orthodox Church for the Development of Pilgrimage and the Bringing of Shrines.
After Yekaterinburg, the ark was delivered to Vladimir, and from September 15 to September 20, the shrine will remain in Moscow.
