On September 6, 2026, Moscow and Irkutsk united in common prayer. On this day, an All-Moscow procession was held in the capital, which was led by His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia. At the same time, a large—scale prayer procession was held in Irkutsk, with the right hand of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt.
More than 15,000 believers from the regions of the Siberian Federal District marched through the central streets of Irkutsk with the relics of two particularly revered saints, St. Spyridon of Trimifunt and St. Innocent of Irkutsk. The relics of St. Spyridon were brought to the capital of the Angara region on September 5.
As Metropolitan Maximilian of Irkutsk and Angara emphasized, common prayer and participation in church life inspire people to do good deeds, mutual support and service to others. The celebrations began with an open-air Divine Liturgy and continued with a procession. The prayer procession was led by Metropolitan Maximilian, Irkutsk Region Governor Igor Kobzev, Deputy Head of the World Russian People's Council Sergei Rudov and Chairman of the Innokenty Sibiryakov Foundation Dmitry Tolokonnikov.
The Irkutsk Diocese notes that prayer processions strengthen faith, help preserve church traditions and become a visible sign of the spiritual unity of society. 
The relics of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt and St. Innocent of Irkutsk were opened for thousands of pilgrims on Count Speransky Square. A special event of the festive Liturgy was the transfer of the slipper of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt to the Irkutsk Diocese. The relic, brought from the Greek island of Corfu, was handed over by Sergei Rudov and representatives of the Greek delegation. She will be available for worship in one of the temples of the city.
In his speech, the head of the Irkutsk Metropolia thanked His Holiness Patriarch Kirill, Metropolitan Nectarius of Kerkyra, the World Russian People's Council and the Innokenty Sibiryakov Foundation for the opportunity for residents of the Angara region to venerate the relics of St. Spyridon.
The right hand of St. Spyridon of Trimifunt is brought to 13 cities of Russia from August 20 to September 20 by representatives of the Greek Orthodox Church. After Irkutsk, the shrine will be delivered to Khabarovsk, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, Vladimir and Moscow.
