His Holiness Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia gave his blessing to direct the funds saved by the Moscow parishes for the purchase of flowers for the day of His Holiness' enthronement to purchase medical equipment for the metropolitan Central Clinical Hospital of St. Alexy, Metropolitan of Moscow.
Since 2016, with the blessing of His Holiness the Patriarch, the custom of presenting flowers to the Primate on holidays has been replaced by a targeted fundraising for charitable needs. In recent years, these funds have been used to purchase new medical equipment for St. Alexy's Hospital, and in 2017, assistance was provided to residents of Syria.
This year, the funds were used to purchase a dental CT scanner for the Central Clinical Hospital of St. Alexy, Metropolitan of Moscow. The CT scanner is designed to conduct a wide range of studies that can significantly improve the quality of diagnosis and treatment of patients with dental pathology, as well as expand the list of dental treatment services.
The new dental tomograph will be another step towards building the work of the dental service in the church hospital. The device will help doctors improve diagnostic accuracy to develop an effective treatment plan.
Dental care at the clinic can be provided primarily to clergy and monastics of the Russian Orthodox Church.
